Nyala

Nyala are found in the woodlands of South Africa are rarely seen out in the open, away from the protection of the forest. They eat grasses, leaves and some fruit. They are currently low risk but are threatened.

Guanaco

The Guanaco is native to the Andes and desert regions of South America. The Guanaco is larger, taller and has much finer wool than the Llama. They eat mainly grasses and leaves.

Galapagos Tortoise

The Galapagos Tortoise in the largest living tortoise and weighs over 600 lbs and can get up to 6 feet in length. These animals are threatened due to the small region in which they are found.

Bison

Male Bison weigh an excess of 2,000 lbs. Bison can live 15 years in the wild and up to 25 in captivity. Bison can be found throughout central North America.

Gibbons

Gibbons live in subtropical rainforests from Northeast India to Southern China. Gibbons eat leaves, twigs, shoots, flowers, eggs and insects. Gibbons are threatened due to habitat loss.

Warthog

Warthogs generally live about 15 years and can be found in most of sub-Saharan Africa. Warthogs are not currently threatened. They are very adaptable and are common in parts of their range.

Kudu

Kudu are found in the woodlands of southern Africa, where their diet consists of grasses, leaves and some fruit. Currently they are classified as low risk but wild populations are declining due to deforestation and hunting.

Alpaca

The Alpaca is native to South America where they live in the desert and mountainous regions of the country. They are herbivores and eat mainly grasses and leaves. Their life span is 20-25 years.

 

Ocelot

Considered by many to be the most beautiful member of the cat family. They live in dense forests and jungles, are nocturnal and rather shy. Due to demands placed by the fashion industry for their skins, their population has been drastically reduced.

White Zebra

Zebras are found in eastern and southern Africa. Zebra can weight as much as 900lbs. Their life span is 25 years, but in the wild may subspecies are now endangered, due to hunting and habitat changes.

Scottish Highlander

Native to Scotland the Scottish Highland Cattle, spend most of the day eating and can consume up to 150 lbs. of grass. Males can weigh as much as 2,200 lbs. They are not currently endangered.

Giraffe

Giraffe tongues range from 18-20 inches long. They use these huge tongues to eat leaves, shoots and vines. Giraffe live in savannas, grasslands and open woodlands. Giraffe are not currently endangered.

Zebra

Tortoise

Sulcata Tortoises are the third largest species of tortoise and can weigh over 200 lbs and reach 35 inches in length. They live in North Africa, in the savanna and semi-desert areas. They are currently threatened in the wild but are very common household pets.

Bongo

Bongo live in dense tropical forests in central Africa, eating grasses, leaves, roots and fruit. There are two types of Bongo, both of which are threatened. The mountain Bongo are more highly endangered.

Llama

Llama are native to South America. Llamas can weigh anywhere between 250-500 pounds and live between 15-25 years. They are herbivores and eat mainly grasses and leaves.
